Welcome to the St. Francis School Library!
Our library collection contains more than 4,000 circulating books and magazines for students to read and enjoy as well as non-circulating reference materials. We are fully automated, using a computerized “card catalog.” Our primary goal is to foster a love of reading in our students and to provide instruction on locating materials and utilizing the collection for enjoyment and assignments.
Rules and Expectations
Students may check out one book every week unless a book is needed for an assigned report. In that instance a student may borrow two books each week.
Students with overdue books may not borrow new materials until the overdue book has been returned.
Overdue books carry a fine of $.05 per school day, or one can of food per school day.
Lost or damaged books must be paid for by the end of the school year.
Students are expected to be respectful of others during their library visit. This includes entering and exiting silently; listening quietly to read-alouds; using soft voices; being polite; and keeping ones hands and feet to oneself.
Students are expected to be respectful of school property by keeping books clean and dry; never writing or coloring on the pages; returning books on time; and taking good care of library furnishings and equipment.
